We all start the New Year with grand motivational plans to be healthier, give up bad habits and generally be more successful in life.
Setting life goals is simple, but actually making your dreams a reality is often easier said than done.
But one Doncaster woman has taken it upon herself to give residents a helping hand with her new hypnotherapy business.
Satnam Kaur, 32, of Woodfield Plantation, Balby, has seen first hand how her hypnotherapy skills can change lives and she is keen to spread the word.
Speaking about her business Lakeside Hypnotherapy Doncaster she said: “In my eyes it’s the closest thing to magic.
“A lot of people are sceptical but you just have to look at how many successful people have used hypnotherapy.
“From sports stars like Tiger Woods (pictured), business people like Alan Sugar, singer Lilly Allen, Kate Middleton, even scientists like Albert Einsteain used hypnotherapy.
“I’ve seen how it can transform people’s lives.
“Hypnotherapy is so effective in giving patients and clients back some control over how they think and feel about their situations.”
Among her success stories is a 16-year-old boy who had been diagnosed with a medical condition affecting his bladder.
She said: “His mum contacted me to see if I could help, he didn’t want to leave the house because he was embarrassed that he may have an accident, when he came to see me in December he hasn’t been out of the house since September.
“By January I had him back at college, he was back running, which he used to really enjoy and he felt able to use public transport.”
Another woman had not been in a relationship for 20 years when she came to visit Satnam.
After just a few sessions the woman was inundated with dates after working on her confidence issues.
“Everytime I see her I tell her how proud i am of her, the fact that she had the guts to come to me and get help,” Satnam says.
Satnam specialises in life enhancement including confidence, anxiety, fears, weight management, performance enhancement, including business and pain management, habbits, and stress and confidence.
And Satnam has a particular desire to help teenage boys in danger of going off the rails.
“There’s a lot of young lads going down the wrong path in Doncaster, whether that’s drugs, alcohol, smoking, anger management issues.
The business is a far cry from Satnam’s previous job working in a call centre.
She said: “I had been working there about six years and I was finding it a bit mundane and wanted a new challenge.
“I’ve always been a caring, nurturing person and I wanted to use this in a more professional capacity.”
Satnam qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist last year and has hit the ground running.
