Free late-night shopping

SHOPPERS who visit Barnsley can now have a late night shopping experience in the town centre, with extended opening hours on Wednesday evenings.

To support this, all town centre council car parking is free from 4pm in street bays and off-street car parks, on Wednesdays from now until December 19. Coun Roy Miller of Barnsley Council said: “We hope that free parking will help to reduce some financial pressure on the public.”
