Thorne will ring to the sounds of traditional Celtic folk rock when Ferocious Dog take to the stage next month.

Creating their own take on traditional Celtic folk, Ferocious Dog take the traditional instruments; fiddles, whistles, mandolins and mix them up with a bit of raw, buzz saw rock n’ roll attitude.

With their unique, aggressive yet feel-good music they tear up venues across the country.

Their new guitarist is Les Carter of the Unstoppable Sex Machine fame (frequently shortened to Carter USM). Carter USM headlined Glastonbury The Pyramid Stage in 1992, and members of Ferocious Dog were in the audience at the time.

They made history this year by becoming the only unsigned act to ever sell out the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham, not only once but twice.

With a successful 2014 autumn tour including sold-out shows and with their new guitarist, 2015 is already looking bright.

They are playing on Saturday, June 6, as part of the Something To Smile About Festival, at Thornensians Rugby Club, Thorne.

Doors open at noon and tickets are £12 for a Day Ticket available from the Booking Office on 07544034552.
