Visitors to Lakeside Village will have the opportunity to meet real life Easter bunnies and chicks, come face to face with birds of prey and take part in craft workshops, at charity events this Easter weekend.

On Good Friday and Easter Saturday, shoppers at the popular shopping outlet in Doncaster will have the opportunity to meet, learn about and have their pictures taken with different birds of prey.

And on Easter Monday from 11am until 4pm, an Easter Animal Road Show will give families and children chance to get up close and personal with spring animals.

They’ll be able to pet and handle real life Easter bunnies, plus lambs, yellow ducklings, guinea pigs and goats, alongside miniature and rare breed chickens and ducks.

On Bank Holiday Monday, shoppers will also be able to enjoy a traditional egg hunt around the centre, finding letters in shop windows in order to spell a mystery word and receive a special chocolate treat. Entry forms will be available from the face painter and craft workshop stalls.

They will also be able to have their faces painted, be wowed with balloon modelling and take part in a number of craft sessions, including Easter bonnet, basket and bean bag workshops.

The events are free, but visitors are encouraged to make voluntary donations to the Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) at the buckets located around the activity areas.

Speaking about the Easter fun day, Centre Manager, Cheryl Sadler, said: “Community and family are both very important to us here at Lakeside Village and these free events offer a great way for visitors to have a fun day out over the Easter weekend that all members of the family will enjoy, while giving something back to charity.”

“The Cleft Lip and Palate Association represents a cause that is very close to our hearts here at Lakeside Village, and we really hope people will come down to take part in the range of activities being provided and raise some money!”

With 950 free car parking spaces and indoor and covered outdoor play areas, Doncaster’s Lakeside Village is already popular with families looking to enjoy leisure activities or find their favourite high street brands at up to 60 per cent less than the usual RRP.

The centre is home to more than 45 famous high street and designer stores including Clarks Outlet, M&S Outlet, GAP Outlet and Next Clearance.

There is a wealth of locations in which to refuel too – including Costa Coffee, Greggs and Thorntons.
