AN appeal now for any photographs of old Doncaster and district public houses. I have received numerous enquiries on the lines of “Do you remember..?” with the sender then going on to wax lyrical about a favourite pub that’s no longer with us.
After a little investigation it really is quite amazing just how many local drinking dens have met their doom via a variety of means - demolition ball, lack of custom and then there’s fire (that seems to crop up fairly regularly).
Drop me a line if you have fond memories of your long gone watering hole - photos would be even better.
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone me on 01302 347223 (Monday to Wednesday) or utilise good old Royal Mail and post something to me.
Skellow Grange have done it again!
Got to hand it to the organisers at this enterprising club - they have come up with another novel way to entertain the customers.
Must be a winner too - Only Fools & Horses has always been a countrywide favourite on the box and this Friday, 11 May you can have a drink at the Grange in the company of Trigger, Marlene, Boycie and Denzil.
Stick another umbrella in me beer Rodders, looks like a good night out!
Do you remember Bentley Colliery A A.R.L?
Perhaps you played, maybe you were an official. Whatever your connection, why not get down to The Jet on Friday May 25 and have a good old trip down memory lane. It’s a reunion night just for you. Get more details from Dave Smith on 07754 160583.
Just about everyone loves the 50s and 60s, even if you were only a gleam in your dad’s eye way back then!
If you remember those days or perhaps you just love the music from that era, then why not get along to the Scunthorpe’s Baths Hall when Chris Madin stars in The Twist, a musical look at that time. More details on 0844 8542776.
