Global celebrity make-up artist Gary Cockerill will be returning to his Doncaster roots as he seeks to inspire young and aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue a career in the beauty industry.
The make-up artist, who has worked with stars from across the globe including David Beckham, Kelly Brook and Eva Longoria, will be hosting a free event together with Swedish beauty company Oriflame.
Gary will take to the stage to share his journey from being a coal miner in Armthorpe to being a regular in the VIP rooms of London and Los Angeles, working his way up from painting the faces of shop mannequins in a factory to becoming the make-up artist of choice for Hollywood legends and A-list celebrities.
He will also host a question and answer session and share his insider beauty tips and tricks before taking to the floor to meet and greet attendees.
Gary has recently been appointed as the UK and Ireland brand ambassador for Oriflame.
He says: “Oriflame’s brand ethos is all about helping people fulfil their dreams which resonates closely with my own experiences of setting goals and pursuing your dreams, no matter which obstacles stand in your way.
“I hope that by sharing my own journey of starting out with no training or contacts with people from my home town where that journey began, I might inspire others to follow a career in beauty and change their lives for the better.”
As well as being the public face of the Swedish brand he is working with Oriflame’s nationwide network of consultants, delivering beauty training for the sales team and leaders.
Gary’s event is taking place on Saturday, May 3, at The Dome.
There will be a morning session from 10am to noon and an afternoon session from 2pm to 4pm.
Tickets are free but anyone wishing to attend must register at http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/gary-cockerill-your-dreams-our-inspiration-tickets-11150793323
