What about candidate apathy?

WE have just returned from voting in our local elections.
Before going, we knew we had a choice of two candidates, Independent and Labour, so imagine our surprise to find five names on the ballot paper.

We hear a lot about 'voter apathy' what about candidate apathy?

If they cannot be bothered to send out leaflets or come knocking on doors, why should we bother to vote?
