"Locals are in favour of plan say Developers" surprise surprise - well of course they would say that wouldn't they?
A more accurate assessment of the locals views was seen at the recent public meeting organised by the Bessacarr and Cantley Forum, where people were almost unanimously, and firmly against the proposals.

The local residents major concerns are so ob
vious:

* Why does Doncaster need 1,100 more houses when there are already 1,000s for sale?
* The area is very low lying, where will all the water go when most of the area is covered in tarmac and houses?
* The vehicular traffic from an additional 1,100 houses can only add to rush hour congestion on Bawtry Road
* The use of the level crossing by buses and emergency vehicles into Bessacarr Lane, an already busy road which is very narrow and unsuitable for heavier traffic.
* A further increase in 'rat run' traffic down Checkstone Avenue into Bessacarr Lane and then through into Stoops Lane.
* The large impact on Warren Wood, an attractive piece of ancient woodland, when the access road is driven through it to link the development to Bawtry Road.

I trust the council's planning committee, in due course, will see sense and resoundingly turn this proposal down.
