I AM very concerned about the plans to introduce Alternative Provider of Medical Services (APMS) into my area. I was particularly alarmed to be informed that our local doctors were not even going to be consulted in the process.
Having worked in both the local government and private sector of my own industry (IT), it is my experience that private companies will always put monetary consideration before any humanitarian interests. I believe this will result in either a wider two tier health system than we already have or worse still a decline in the availability to receive medical treatment for certain (more costly) illnesses.

While I recognise that the public purse is not a bottomless pit, I feel that I must take the time to remind you as my elected representative in parliament, that share holders profits, was not why the national health service was originally conceived.
