I MUST confess that when I read the letter from Dave Douglass (Pride in Doncaster, June 18) I thought it was a 'wind up'. Personally, I regret what has happened to Doncaster in the last few years regarding the night life scene.
As you walk through town, particularly Silver Street, on a Saturday or Sunday morning, one has to be careful to avoid vomit and urine. The alleyway to Frances Street seems to be the public toilet for the area.

Smashed shop windows are also a feature of this wonderful scene that Dave paints. Two questions come to mind:

1. Do the police who have to deal with the problems that arise, think it is a wonderful thing for Doncaster?

2. While the nightclub owners count their takings, what is the cost to the ratepayer?
