I AM really pleased to hear that the police have at last got involved with the MPs' expenses scandal.
I am aware that some of the cases are nothing to do with the police but many of the MPs still need to be investigated. It is all well and good these MPs accepting they have made mistakes and saying that they will rectify the error, but this would not be the case had they not been caught in the first place.

It beggars belief that some have been claiming hundreds of pounds each month for home mortgages after their mortgages have been repaid.

If these MPs can make this sort of "error" it is blatantly obvious to me that they are incapable of being an MP.

All MPs should be made to show their expenses with no parts blacked out; if they have nothing to hide what are they afraid of?

The whole of Doncaster agrees with you Sue, well except from the three MPs, Carline Flint, Rosie Winterton and Ed Miliband as it appears, according to MP Flint they have decided to remain silent. Are we still paying them the huge pay to remain silent. No wonder Doncaster is in a mess, what a total farce. Doncaster must kick them out at a first opportunity.

By the way, in case you wondered, I am a Labour Party member and am horribly horrified we have kicked out Michael Felse, expelling him for 5 years from the Labour Party. What is is crime, getting road safety sorted on the roads around the Hospital before little kids get run over.

I am today cancelling my Direct Debit to The Labour Party, they have insulted our intelligence once to much. I think MPs should all be investiaged by the police and the reports printed in the local press.

Do the MPs just not get it, they hold a public post.

Hear Hear, I have to agree with all comments made. Time for transparency in both National and Local politics.

Sue,
On this issue I have to agree with you and Rover 2010, but I would ask you both to look at what they have done to this country rather than just a bit of mean penny-pinching. All MP's are trying to blame the mess we are in on the world financial upheaval, but that excuse does not bear scrutiny. These MP's have failed in every field in the very thing that they were elected on, namely,"To represent the people" and not Party dogma. Indeed, to promise a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, then refuse one , knowing that the result would be a resounding "NO" AND THEN SIGNING IT, shows the contempt they have for the British people, and especially for democracy.
