Unleashed is a risqué comedy exploring sexual fantasy, set in the hedonistic world of Amsterdam exploring sexual manners and male desire.

But not only will audience members be in for one hell of a performance, they themselves will be transported to a nightclub setting in what director and star Alan Roberts promises will be a truly unique experience.

"The whole venue will be turned into a strip club, with bouncers on the door, men dressed as Chippendales, girls serving drinks dressed as French maids - its all part of the experience," he said.

For Kingfisher Primary School teacher, Alan Roberts, 33, who is one of the original members of The Little Theatre, the whole experience has been particularly challenging as he had to divide his time both behind the scenes and on stage.

"That wasn't my intention to direct and play a lead role but unfortunately someone fell sick and it was a case of 'the show must go on.'

"It has been quite challenging but I've been lucky that the four other cast members are strong - and fingers crossed it will be a special production."

The story follows Dennis, a hen-pecked IT manager stuck in a boring marriage with Annabelle.

But when Dennis embarks on a rare business trip to Amsterdam with colleagues Bob and Gary, his eyes are opened to a world in which every sexual fantasy is available and it seems his life will never be the same again.

Written by Yorkshire playwright John Godber and first performed in 1999 at the Bloomsbury Theatre, London by Hull Truck Theatre Company, director Alan Roberts has given the play a local twist.

The story is set in two locations with all five actors taking on two very different parts each. Dennis, played by director Alan, starts life in the show as Mick, a sex-show cubicle cleaner, who appears to have left the comfort of Doncaster many years ago to travel the world and only got as far as Amsterdam, via Hull.

"It's funny, slick - it explores life in Amsterdam so there are a lot of adult themes, some foul language and nudity, it's definitely for adults only," warns Alan.

The play starts on Saturday and runs until June 21. Tickets are priced at £8, concessions (OAPs) are £6 and available from the box office on 01302 340422. Curtain-up is officially at 7:30pm, but the entertainment will start at 7pm.
