THIS week, while Abba remain at the top of the charts and Mamma Mia! is riding high at the box office, it appears the whole world is bathing themselves in the likes of Money Money Money and Dancing Queen.
However, if you've had your fill of 70s Scand-pop, you can rest happy with the thought of two killer gigs coming to Vintage Rockbar. Firstly, The Notorious Hi-Fi Killers will be playing with Goading Goliath and Drop Tank Racer on Friday before New Ze
aland band Over the Atlantic prepare to woo their audience with Idiot Savant and The Openhiemers on Saturday. Then at The Priory on Friday, Partyshank, Glamour for Better and Daisy Riots will be playing while Dyonisis perform at The Leopard.
Over in Sheffield, it's still a little quiet on the books with Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando playing a solo show at the Leadmill on Friday while on Monday chart toppers The Script will be playing at Sheffield Academy. The Plug also remains a little quiet with only Silent Film Project, New Education, Pistola Kicks and Goodbye Good playing on Saturday. However if you're looking for something to cure your summer blues then look no further than the 2Poor2Pitch event taking place at The Harley. Headlining are Future of the Left with Skeletons, Alvarez Kings and Vegas Child all playing the event. The gig takes place on August 30 and is a very reasonable £14.
