SO, with the beginning of May truly in progress, we can say it is officially festival season - hurrah!
Of course what this will mean for any of you wishing to attend a festival this year is there will be an endless downpour of rain and a fixed 'it's all part of the experience' expression on your face. But who can help it, I'm a sucker for just about a
ny festival going, and it really is part of the experience. There's nothing like waking up in a morning, warming up a few baked beans before going to see some of the best live bands around, in rain or shine.

So you'll be happy to hear that the next Doncaster Live Festival is on its way. Now the line up has not been officially announced yet but you can expect some big names this year to watch in the Market Place from July 19, so stay tuned to find out more information on the event.

This week however there are a variety of new indie treats coming your way. To start with, 'indie grime' group Hadouken will be hitting that new age Academy in Sheffield this Wednesday as well as the dance group Soulwax playing tonight, also with their heavier dance outfit 2ManyDJs.

Also in the Sheffield area you can see Son of Dave at The Plug on Friday followed by Lethal Bizzle on Saturday. Then finally with a little Doncaster connection you can see Lightspeed Champion play at the Leadmill on Saturday followed by the legendary Bjork at the City Hall on Sunday.

Then a little closer to home you can see Sketches at Vintage Rockbar on Sunday night with Vibrant Rain while electro trio Darlings of the Split Screen are playing at the Priory tomorrow night.
