WELL Peter (Jason Segal) might be forgetting Sara Marshall but this film certainly isn't as forgettable as one might think. Sure, it's the typical romcom; girl dumps boy for another boy, boy wants girl back but ends up finding a better girl in the pr
ocess. However throw in a couple of nude scenes and a few jokes, which push the boundaries of comedy and you've got one sarcastically hilarious funfest.
Peter, who is totally besotted by his actress girlfriend, Sarah Marshall, is completely crushed when she brutally dumps him for Brit singing star Aldous (Russell Brand). In an attempt to get away and ultimately forget Sarah he takes a trip to Hawaii. But true to form, Sarah and Aldous are also in Hawaii and …….in the same hotel.
What follows is the same style of comedy as The 40 Year Old Virgin and Superbad, which isn't to everyone's taste, but for those who find it hilarious to kick a guy whilst he's down will love it.
New to feature films, Russell Brand, hardly shows any acting ability at all in the fact that he plays himself, but just for the movie, let's call him Aldous and instead of a presenter he can be a pop star.
Needless to say if you like Russell Brand, you'll like him in this. Personally I'd have loved to see him without the tight trousers and the back combed hair.
The comedy throughout is witty and in some scenes excruciatingly hilarious, hence a grown man crying in the buff! All in all I'd say Forgetting Sarah Marshall is up there with The 40 Year Old Virgin. It's super funny, super American and a definite must see!
