Work continues on the A638 this weekend
DRIVERS face disruption on the A638 this weekend as work continues on Doncaster's new Quality Bus Corridor.
Temporary traffic signals will be in operation on Saturday and Sunday at the junction of York Road and Barnsley Road in order to allow the existing lights to be reconfigured.
A statement released on behalf of the A638 QBC project partners, SYPTE, Doncaster Council and the town's bus operators, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. The temporary traffic management arrangements are essential for the safety of both the workforce and the general public and will enable the work to be completed more efficiently."
Work on York Road is now into the final section and is expected to be completed by mid to late August 2008.
The entire £15.3m scheme, which also runs to the south of Doncaster along Bawtry Road from Racecourse Roundabout to Parrots Corner, is scheduled to be completed in early 2009.
