DONCASTER Racecourse transformed into a Parisian paradise on Saturday with a 'racy' Moulin Rouge themed extravaganza.
The famous French nightclub, home of the infamous can-can was the inspiration for the first of a series of themed race events taking place throughout the summer.

Racegoers were treated to Moulin Rouge dancers, fire eaters, glamorous drag queens, and caricature artists who mingled between races plus a full Moulin Rouge performance afterwards in the racecourse's Lazarus Exhibition Hall.

The Moulin Rouge themed ladies night was the first of a range of alternative racing experiences that will be taking place at Doncaster Racecourse.

A course spokesman said: "June and July will see the launch of the live music nights - high profile live music acts performing in the open air after racing."
