There'll be nothing small about Doncaster Mini Register's forthcoming fundraising effort for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The long-running car club is planning an eight day UK rally stretching the length and breadth of the country and is expected to involve hundreds of vehicles.

And officials are looking for even more Mini enthusiasts to take part in the massive event.

Jason Morris, of Doncaster Mini Register, said: "We wanted to do a rally with all our members and chose a local charity we all knew about so we chose Macmillan. The charity helps local families affected by cancer and we all believe it is a very worthwhile cause."

Sarah Teale, Macmillan's local fundraising manager, said: "I was delighted when I got the call from Jason as I have had a mini for six years and I love driving my little car so to be able to support an event that is very close to my heart is a real pleasure.

"All the people taking part are so enthusiastic about Minis and also about Macmillan."

The first leg of the UK rally takes place on July 12 and all of the money raised will go towards a new Macmillan Benefits Advice Service in Doncaster, helping cancer patients manage their finances and claim relevant benefits. For more information about the event contact Sarah on (01246) 810301 or email steale@macmillan.org.uk.
