SUE and Brian Cullumbine are retiring after 25 years running a post office - but that won't mean the end of the family's connection to the business.
Sue, 62 and Brian, 65, from Adwick-Le-Street finished working behind the counter at Great North Road, Woodlands, on Tuesday.

The couple worked alongside their daughter Sally, 34, who has 18 years service. Son Ian, 32, keeps up the family tradition by working as a postman.

Sue said: "I enjoyed meeting the public and meeting the people who came in and would have a chat to you. You always hear about their woes! It's been a very rewarding job.

"It was quite a family venture when we first started. It will be strange to leave it all behind but we are looking forward to new events and new things.

"We would like to go on holiday, we enjoy gardening and spending time with the family and grand-children because we've been so busy here."

The post office will now be taken over by new postmaster Tony De Souza, with Sally remaining at the branch.
