Shoppers on a budget can pick up a treat as a bargain supermarket chain opens its doors in a Doncaster village.
The new Netto supermarket in Carcroft will open for business on May 22 after a £1.5 million refurbishment of the old Kwiksave building on High Street.
The Danish-owned store, famous for its advertising slogan as "Scandinavian for value" boasts bra
nd name goods at reduced prices and its arrival has created more than 20 jobs.
District manager, Chris Dye, said: "This latest Netto supermarket is a significant retail investment for the people of Carcroft and brings Netto's UK store total to 183.
"Netto has its roots in Yorkshire and the new location represents our continued commitment to the region.
To celebrate the launch, the supermarket is offering free food, drink and entertainment from the Netto live jazz band when the doors open at 8.30am. Residents can also attend a special preview taster evening between 6pm and 7pm on May 21 to sample some of the goods and even win a trip to Paris.
Said Chris: "I'd like to invite all local residents to join me and the team at this event. It will be a great way to take a first look at the new store and sample a variety of excellent quality food and wines exclusive to Netto.
"We've had a fantastic response from local residents in the area who are really looking forward to having a new supermarket in Carcroft."
There are currently more than 1000 Netto stores across Denmark, Germany, Poland, Sweden and the UK.
