USA scholarship for soccer star

A FORMER Doncaster and District schoolboy soccer star has become the latest youngster from the region to earn a scholarship in the United States.
Centre back Rob Carter, a former captain of Tickhill Juniors and pupil at Edlington School, has accepted a place on a Business Studies course at Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska.

He graduated from Thomas Rotherham College after representing Doncaster and District Junior Sunday League U14, U15 and U16 sides, Sheffield and Hallam County FA U18s, and South Yorkshire Schoolboys U19s.
