Tickhill book their place in quarter-final
STAFFORCE RECRUITMENT MICK SAVAGE TROPHY
TICKHILL progressed against Aston Hall to book a quarter-final trip to either Whiston or Rockingham.
At Alderson Drive visitors Aston began well with a good opening partnership between Andrew Scott (51) and Chris Holland (35).
But the innings nosedived with the introduction of Chris Jevons into the Tickhill attack.
Jevons ripped through the second half of the Aston defence claiming 5 for 25 and reducing the visitors to 170 all out.
Tickhill's response saw a decent second wicket stand between Ashley Fiddler, who stayed on to make 37 not out, and Zahoor Elahi, who smashed his way to 39, help secure a six wicket triumph for the hosts.
l In the President's Trophy, Rossington beat Warmsworth B at Common Lane in a match reduced to 30 overs per side due to rain.
Michael Richardson hit 48 to enable a Rossington total of 142 for 9.
Warmsworth lost wickets quickly in reply until skipper Mark Knight took over the centre with a quickfire 39.
He was aided by Ian Marshall, who came in at number 10 to smash 37 runs, but it was to no avail as the Warmsworth challenge ended at 122 all out - short by 20 runs.
Rossington travel to Thorpe Hesley in the next round.
