It was a big blow for Doncaster but the home side had looked livelier and the goal was no more than they deserved.
Wellens had a shot blocked when Rovers tried to hit back but Mills had to make a desperate headed clearance from underneath the cross bar when Gill threatened for Cheltenham again.

Stock was booked for a foul on Vincent in the 32nd minute before Rovers went agonisingly close to an equaliser twice in quick succession.

Hird had a shot clawed round the post by home keeper Higgs following a 34th minute corner.

It led to another corner and this time Taylor hammered a shot on target which beat Higgs but Gillespie cleared off the line.

There were appeals for a penalty from the home side when Gillespie went down under O'Connor's challenge but they were waved aside by the referee.

Rovers began to apply pressure just before the interval and Higgs came out to save at McCammon's feet before Stock and Taylor went close in quick succession.

Half time: Cheltenham 1 Rovers 0, Forest 3 Yeovil 1, Carlisle 0 Bournemouth 0
If the scores stay the same FOREST will be promoted.
