DONCASTER Rovers Belles need your support!

The Free Press is officially backing the Belles' exciting bid to join the new Women's Super League - and now YOU can help the club achieve their goal.
Doncaster Belles' proud history as one of the country's most successful women's football teams will be key to their application to join the Football Association's lucrative concept - set to be launched in 2011.
Not gaining entry into the revolutiona
ry eight team division could have serious consequences.

Manager John Buckley has already told the Free Press that he fears for the future of the club should they miss out.

And Belles officials, who have until next month to prepare their bid to join the new semi-professional summer league, are hoping the Doncaster public can help make the Super League dream become a reality.

Chairman Jonathan James said: "We've got the application forms now and part of the process is to show the FA that you have a strong fan base.
"There's a section on our website which allows people to pledge their support to our application and we'd like as many people as possible to sign up.

"The Belles are such a big name in women's football and this town deserves to have a Super League team.

"The FA have really gone to town with their plans for the league.
"It's a two-year project with no relegation during that period and the prospect of a lucrative television deal.

"We're absolutely desperate to be part of it."

The cash-strapped Belles stayed afloat by the skin of their teeth last year after local people and businesses rallied around the club.

By recently becoming a Company Limited by Guarantee, and with plans to set up a Social Enterprise, the Belles hope to dramatically increase revenue streams.

Entry into the Super League would see the club benefit from an annual £70,000 payout from the FA.

The governing body, however, wants each of the eight chosen sides to pay its top four players a yearly salary of between £20,000 and £30,000.

The new Women's Super League will run from March to October to minimise the clash with the men's game.
