STARS from the Super League Grand Final will miss out on England's final World Cup warm-up against Wales at the Keepmoat on Friday night (7.35pm).
England coach Tony Smith will not use the 15 players in his World Cup squad involved in Saturday's titanic clash between Leeds Rhinos and St Helens.
Instead he will give them a well-earned rest and use the game to look at players involved in his
train-on squad in competitive action.
Harlequins trio Rob Purdham, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Tony Clubb have all been named in Smith's 18 man squad, while Castleford's Michael Shenton and Salford's Richard Myler, who destroyed the Dons in July's Northern Rail Cup final, should make their debuts.
The squad to face Wales will include eight players named in Smith's 24-man World Cup party, who fly to Australia on Monday, including Warrington's Martin Gleeson who will captain the side.
