DONCASTER Athletic Club celebrated a double success in the fifteenth annual town centre road races.
Teenager Robert Konstandelos got the evening off to a great start by romping home in the one-mile fun run.
And stalwart Simon Wright went one better than in the last two years to take the honours in the veteran's 5,000m race.
More than 450 competitors, ranging from international athletes to fun runners in tuxedos and evening dresses, took part in the annual town centre event.
The talented members of Doncaster AC, who fielded more than 80 competitors in total, came to the fore as athletes from the Keepmoat Stadium based club performed admirably in each event.
Fifteen-year-old Hall Cross student Konstandelos finished the family run, which saw children aged as young as three complete the one-mile circuit, in an impressive time of 6.11 and was followed in second place by DAC's Myles St Clair (6.28), also a 15-year-old pupil at Hall Cross.
Wright produced another impressive performance in the veteran's race to complete his three laps in 16.23 and beat off Sheffield Running Club's Kev Lilley.
DAC's Kev Newman (16.54) was also first over the line in the men's over 50 category for the second successive year, while Mick Page recorded the fastest time in the men's over 55s category (17.30).
Jane Ayers (19.13) and Dawn Fletcher (22.07) rounded off a superb night for the club by prevailing in the ladies over 40s and over 45s categories respectively.
The open race was won by Jason Ward, of Altrincham Athletic Club, in a superb time of 14.44.
He finished in front of team-mate Andy Norman (14.51), while Salford Harrier Pumlani Bangani (14.54) took third.
First to finish for Doncaster was Pete Tallents (16.15) in fifteenth position.
Jenny Blizzard, of Tickhill, won the senior ladies event for the fourth time.
The Rotherham Harrier, who has previously run for Great Britain, shaved 50 seconds off her 2007 time to finish in 17.09.
Civic mayor councillor Paul Coddington later handed out prizes at the post race presentation.
