SIXTEEN-year-old Sophie Brown leapt to prominence in the English Schools Athletics Championships by finishing fifth in the inter girls triple jump.
The Doncaster Athletic Club starlet was one of six athletes from the club to compete against the country's best young track and field prospects at Gateshead at the weekend.

Lisa Revitt, 17, finished seventh in the senior girls 100m hurdles final, Chloe Bradley, 16, also came seventh in the inter girls 300m final, while 18-year-old Jamie Brough finished fifth in his heat of the senior boys 100m.

Kelly Bramhald claimed seventh in the junior girls javelin and 16-year-old Katherine Wilson ended up 11th in the inter girls pole vault.
