Residents evacuated in blaze drama

AROUND 20 residents had to be evacuated from their homes after a blaze broke out on an industrial estate.
At its height 25 firefighters from across Doncaster and Sheffield tackled the blaze at the units in Oswin Avenue, Balby.

Crews were alerted to the fire at around 5.20pm yesterday. Residents living in surrounding properties were evacuated as a precaution.

Five appliances from Doncaster, Adwick, Edlington and Elm Lane in Sheffield were called to the scene,

Nobody was injured and firefighters left the scene at 9.15pm, the fire service said.

An investigation has been launched to establish how the blaze started.
