Students set to rock you with show
Thunder bolts and lightning will rock audiences as the curtain rises on an academy’s latest production.
The staging of We Will Rock You at Trinity Academy, in Thorne, promises to be an emotional experience for some of the cast who will be performing for the last time before they leave school.
Cameron Sharp, 17, from Thorne, who plays Killer Queen and is aiming to go to theatre school after A levels, said: “We’re definitely going out with a bang. Our parents grew up with the music in the show and we just want to make sure we do it justice.”
As one year ends, the show also marks the beginning of a new regime for performing arts at Trinity under new head of drama Melanie Cutler and new head of music Sam Fisher. The show is on February 6, 7 and 8 and doors open at 6.30pm. Tickets, which cost £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, £12 for a family, are available from the academy or on 01405 813000, ext 102.
