Service for new Mothers’ leader
A SPECIAL service will be held at Doncaster Minster this weekend to commission a new Mothers’ Union chief.
The Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, will lead the service on February 2 at 2.30pm to commission Sheila Wood, the new diocesan president of the Mothers’ Union.
The new president will also chair the board of trustees.
The worldwide organisation works on a triennial basis and all the trustees and branch officials take on their roles for three years, serving a maximum of six years in a post. The year 2013 marks the start of a new triennial.
Sheila said: “I was honoured to be chosen as the Sheffield diocesan president for the next three years and hope that I can fulfil this role to ensure the Mothers’ Union continues to grow in our diocese.”
