New health chief’s ‘passion for change’
A former Conisbrough woman has secured a top NHS job that will see her organise services for almost 300,000 local people.
Jackie Pederson, 40, is the new chief of strategy and delivery for NHS Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group. She grew up in Conisbrough and attended Northcliffe Comprehensive School.
Mrs Pederson said: “I’ve grown up in the area and live here and it’s really important to me to be able to see the benefits and how they are impacting on residents and people I know.”
Her role will come in to effect on April 1, after local primary care trusts have gone and CCGs are introduced.
Led by Doncaster GPs, the CCG will manage the NHS budget for the area, which is in excess of £400 million.
Mrs Pederson added: “It’s great to be working with GPs and NHS managers who share my passion for making a difference in Doncaster and who want to make health services better.”
Her husband, Wayne, works for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals as a senior accountant.
