residents are invited to go and along and see a series of pictures inspired by the process of printmaking.
The ‘Printout’ exhibition at The Point runs until Saturday January 12 next year and artists will also run workshops so families and adults can have a go at printing.
As well as displaying finished work, the exhibition looks at the processes behind the prints, exposing the steps taken along the way to achieve the perfection of a finished edition.
This collection of work has been created by Rosemary and Graham Firth from Doncaster, Lee Turner from Newcastle and Jacqui Symons of Mossley, near Manchester.
The exhibitions features techniques including lithographs, collagraphs, linocuts and monoprints.
The idea for the exhibition came from Helen Jones, arts development manager at darts (Doncaster Community Arts) she said: “I first heard the word ‘squeegee’ during an art class in secondary school. It was uttered by a visiting Glaswegian tutor who was teaching us basic printing skills. I was hooked and still am.”
