MP Caroline Flint has lent her support to a Conisbrough school’s campaign for lower speed limits.

Ms Flint visited Castle Academy after a survey showed 92 per cent of parents supported a lower speed limit near the school, on Low Road, where the limit changes from 30 to 40mph. Head teacher of Castle Academy, Simon Martin, said: “Parents welcomed Caroline Flint’s proposals to reduce the speed limit near schools. For several years we have expressed concerns, especially about the main Mexborough to Doncaster Road, without success.” The MP is campaigning for 20mph limits near schools.
