AROUND 100 adults and young people took part in a family fun event aimed at getting people to enjoy a variety of activities.

Sports games including rounders, football, boccia, golf and tennis were on offer as well as face-painting, art activities, a smoothie bike and healthy eating demonstrations. People over the age of 40 were also offered physical health checks.

The event, held at Cantley Park and Sports Pavilion, off Aintree Avenue, was organised by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), in partnership with Active Doncaster and Rossington Disability Sports Group.

It was such a success that an application for funding has already been submitted to hold a community games event next summer.
