College beauty facility opens

AN internationally renowned skin care specialist joined students to officially open a new beauty salon at Dearne Valley College.

Eve Taylor OBE, who launched her successful skin care range in 1968, cut the ribbon to open the recently renovated Aspirations Hair and Beauty Salon at the Manvers campus.

Former student Matthew Taylor also gave a talk to students on how he launched his own skin health and body therapy business.

The salon has undergone a substantial facelift and transformation from sports bar and small beauty training area, into a large professional salon, which is also open to the public.

Martin Harrison, Dearne Valley College principal and chief executive, said: “At Dearne Valley College we are passionate about high quality and I feel we have provided a facility to match our expectations in this salon.”

*The college will be hosting an open night for prospective students this evening, Thursday, from 5pm until 8pm.
