BOXING ace Jamie McDonnell will be helping to switch a town’s Christmas lights on.

The IBF Final Eliminator champ will be a special guest to unveil the lights in Bawtry on December 6.

The Hatfield boxer will be joined by carol singers from the area’s schools and the Doncaster Ladies Choir as well as a special visit from Father Christmas and a fireworks display.

The switch-on will also mark late night shopping until 8pm at Bawtry’s town stores.

Cancer charity Aurora is the adopted charity for the event.

The switch on takes place at 6pm at Bawtry Hall in South Parade.
