OLYMPIC medallist Sarah Stevenson was presenting awards rather than receiving them recently when she met some high-achieving youngsters.
The tae kwon do ace, of Ayton Walk, returned to her old primary school, Bentley New Village, to give out awards to pupils for their excellent school work and sports activities.
Prizes were also given to mums, dads and grandparents who have helped out by fundraising and volunteering.
And pupils were delighted to meet the talented sportswoman who won a bronze medal at last year's Beijing Olympics.
Headteacher Rosalie Maughan said: "It was lovely to see Sarah at the awards. The children have been keeping up with her Olympic and sporting success and she's an excellent role model for them."
The school will also be saying a fond farewell to Mrs Maughan when she retires at the end of the summer term.
The popular head has spent over 13 years teaching at New Village and has been in charge since 2003. She added: "It has been a really good place to work, I've loved it."
