FIREFIGHTERS were called out to Kilnhurst on Sunday night after arsonists set fire to a pile of debries on a building site at Highthorn Road.
A crew from Mexborough Fire Station arrived at 9pm and used a single water hose to extinguish the blaze.

ARSONISTS set fire to a wheelybin outside a home in Birdwell on Monday night.

Firefighters arrived at the scene on Sheffield Road at 9.30pm and used a backpack water hose to put the flames out.

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze in Brierley on Friday night after arsonists had started a bonfire in woodland.

A crew from Royston Fire Station arrived at the scene near Hill Street Crescent at 8.45pm and used backpack water jets to put the fire out.

GOLDTHORPE Library has a readers' group today (September 4) and the craft class restarts tomorrow. There will be a medal presentation at the library on Monday to youngsters who completed the book reading challenge.

WENTWORTH MP John Healey is holding an advice surgery at Rotherham Town Hall on Saturday from 11am.
