BUDDING news reporters from Wath have been delivering their own televised take on local news.
Student reporters from Wath Comprehensive School produced their own TV news show on the Government's Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, through the Rotherham Student Journalist Project. The team of seven Year 8 students joined the Student Journalist Project last year, and since then have eagerly taken part in reporting tasks in all forms of media, including print, podcasting and radio.

For their latest project they reported on schools of the future and looked at how schools in Rotherham are set to be transformed over the next 15 years in a report to be viewed by their classmates and people working in education in the town.

Pupils did their own research, scripts and presenting, while a professional crew filmed and edited the programme.

Barrie Morgan, Rotherham Student Journalist Project Co-ordinator, said: "We're delighted to have been able to give the students an opportunity, to work with a business in the creative industry and develop a news report that will be seen by teaching professionals."

The film will be shown online.
